Chiang Mai Simon Cabaret

So, yesterday Susie (Mom) and I went to Wat (temple) Doi Suthep. This is one of the more famous buddhist temples in Thialand. I finally got around to spelling "Chiang" and "buddhist" correctly =).

So, we got a great deal, 200 baht for both of us to take a ride up to the temple. Its about a 20 - 25 minute drive from our hotel, and most "red trucks" wont take anything less than 5 - 6 people at a time. We seem to have been lucky, as we didn't even have to haggle with this guy, and for 100 baht a person, its not a bad deal (2.25 or so per person)

One moment, there seems to be some kind of .. parade going by.... I dont have my Camera, but i'll BRB.

Its the internet though, so its not like you will ever know I stepped away =)

Ohh.. its a middle (or highschool, remember, it's so hard to tell ages here) band. Ok, they are gone now, and I can hear the Disco music on my Ipod.

So, for 100 baht each, it was worth the trip to get there when we wanted to. I'm very glad we didnt skip Doi Suthep, because it was amazing! I got my brother a Buddhist trinket that can be used as either a keychain, or more like they are here, as a necklace pendant. I'd say half the people I run into here wear them, they are very popular with the young Buddhists here.

I think its national walk down the road day for school kids. It must be every class out there.

So, after the Wat (temple), Susie started feeling the effects of Food Poisoning. Here, let me explain them: Hah, just kidding.

So, needless to say, she stayed in last night. Jenny and Ron went out to the China Man's house to get some Acupuncture, after visiting his shop for herbs and stuff for Rons arthritis.

I was on my own, so I ended up buying tickets for Simon Chiang Mai, a Cabaret on the skirt of the city. I was provided transportation from my Hotel, the Sri Pat Guest House (look it up, its great). I ended up sitting next to some Aussie girls on the bus, and we took seats in the second row, far right (there are stages on either side of the main, central stage). I cant begin to tell you how much fun I had. For those of you who are not familiar with Simon Cabaret, let me explain a little something to you:

These girls, the most beautiful girls I have seen in Asia, are all men. MEN. They have ALMOST all the right parts to be a woman, but they kept the original lower packaging.

When I say they are beautiful, I mean if I was standing in a bar, I would only dream of being able to talk to one of these girls. They are that pretty. You would never know these girls were boys. I cant wait to upload the pictures. I actually sneaked in my video camera, so that will be another video clip I'll have to upload when I get to the states. Ohh, if I was here for another night I'd probably go again, it was only 400 baht, including transportation, and no drink minimum, so no hidden fees. There was a 20 baht charge after the show to get your picture taken with one or two of the man-women, so I got my picture taken with two gorgious girls. Boys.

We got my mom some anti biotics, so she feels a little better this morning, but wont leave her room, for fear of not having a toilet. (Ewwww)

Phra Nakhon Khiri historical park

Phra Nakhon Khiri (Thai: อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครคีรี) is a historical park in Phetchaburi, Thailand, located on a hill overlooking the city. The name Phra Nakhon Khiri means Holy City Hill, but locals know it better as Khao Wang, meaning hill with palace.

The park consists of three building groups, located on the three peaks of the 92m high hill. On the western peak is the actual palace with adjoining structures. The middle or central peak is a big chedi named Phra That Chom Phet. The eastern peak houses the Wat Phra Kaeo, the royal temple, built in similar fashion to the Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok. The whole complex was built as a summer palace by King Mongkut, with construction finished in 1860.

The site was registered as a historical park on August 27, 1979, with two of the palace buildings now housing a branch of the Thai National Museum.

Phetchaburi Province

Phetchaburi (often short Phet'buri, Thai: เพชรบุรี (Pronunciation)) is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram and Prachuap Khiri Khan. In the west it borders Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar.

Sights

Hat Cha-am (หาดชะอำ) Appearing to have been frozen in time warp, midway between remaining a Thai-style resort, and modernising to meet international tastes and requirements, this extensive pine-fringed beach is considered to be one of the most popular beaches of Thailand.

Maruekhathaiyawan Palace (พระราชนิเวศน์มฤคทายวัน) This beachside wooden palace was formerly used as a royal summer residence by King Rama VI during the 1920s. Facing the open sea, the palace is referred to as the palace of love and hope”

Huai Sai Wildlife Breeding Centre (ศูนย์เพาะเลี้ยงและขยายพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าห้วยทราย) 14 kilometres south of Cha-am at km. 220, a 4-kilometre branch road leads to the Huai Sai Wildlife Breeding Centre where wild animals, both mammals and birds, are conserved in its shady area.

Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park (อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครคีรี) This covers a hilly area with an old palace and historical temples in the vicinity of the town. It consists of royal halls, temples and groups of buildings, constructed mostly in harmonious Thai, Western neoclassic and Chinese architectural styles.
